Other Herbs:
The needs of this plant are pretty straight forward, full to part sun
and a well draining soil. The perennial chamomile (Roman) is hardy to
40 below but the annual (German) will disappear at freezing. Chamomile
lawns are becoming popular using the Roman form. I haven't attempted it yet.
Chamomile Uses and Gardening Tips:
Growing Chamomile Indoors
Not recommended for indoor growing even the annual doesn't like to be without the summer air.
Culinary Uses
Gather the flowers to make the famous chamomile tea. Either form is fine. The annual being upright makes it a bit easier to gather the flower.
Landscaping Uses
Chamomile is called the "physician's plant" because it really does revive and strengthen plants that it is planted next to. Try instead of a chamomile lawn a chamomile bench.
